Finally nana and Aunt jessie arrive!

Well the count down has ended and Auntie jessie and Nana Lyn have arrived safely in melbourne, Jessie not only got to meet her niece but also celebrated her 11th birthday the day she arrived..double the fun for double ones! Happy 11th Birthday Jess!!!!!!
Ella has been nothing but giggles and smiles for them both and especially loves aunt jessie, so much so she cried when jai tried to take her out of her arms, ohhhh i hear you say...she also was extra good the day before they arrived so that i could make jessies birthday cake, by sleeping the whole way through it! At least i didnt have to make the cake with spatula in one arm and her in the other, like most of our dinners! She must have known it was for Auntie Jessie her look alike. (I swear she looks like jessie!)
She also has finally had an all nighter sleep on friday night, ahhh 7 hours sleep, the luxury of it all. It only lasted that one night but maybe she has another in her? Please? Maybe its because she turned two months old? Maturing into a little adult...hehe
Well, I hope that Aunt jessie and nana Lyn have a great time in melbourne for two weeks and dont freeze too much....wish they had of brought the warm weather with them!

Kiwi Invasion!!

Look out Ella, the Kiwi's are coming!

It's OK, it's another amazing gift from abroad, a cuddly little Kiwi. This one from our friends in NZ, Paul & Jo. Thanks bro's! Ella loves it! Another big thanks to Desleigh & Roy in Brisvegas for the "Ella Rose" wooden name plate. It looks great, and will look great in Ella's room.

We have been completely overwhelmed lately with all the fantastic gifts everyone has been sending. We appreciate the effort everybody has made. Thank you!

While you're here, don't forget to check out http://www.kiddley.com. It's a great site dedicated to all things kids, and made by the same people that do Loobylu. And of course, please leave a comment for Ella!

The photo with me and Ella was taken on the weekend and I thought she looked funny. What do you think? She loves being in bed with Dad!

Nooooo more photos mum...I want to eat!!!

Its been a good three weeks since Ella’s last weigh in, and Jai and I made a bet the night before how much she would actually put on, of course I won! Unfortunately I forgot to actually bet "anything" on it, so it was a wasted win, Jai had said she would put on a mere 400gms...and I said "no way, its been three weeks, the most a baby should put on each week is 200gms, so I think it will be 600gms...." and there it was on the scales. 5.6kgs.....her last weigh in was 4.975...that looks like a little over 600gms to me, sorry Jai you lose! Mum knows best!

Ella is definitely a good little eater, she never misses a feed and is almost like clockwork...3 hours....do I hear a cry....it must be feed time! Sometimes she even tries to fool me with telling me it is feed time after only 2 hours.. Mums not silly Ella! Although who can resist a face like the above photo! (I thought it was time for everyone to see a different side to Ella, hehe)

The maternal health nurse is very happy with little Ella, she is growing fantastically and she even wrote in her health book "Excellent, beautiful girl" next to her weight. So I am one very proud mum. She definitely takes after her mum in that way, she loves her food..Sometimes while she is sleeping she even looks like she is dreaming about eating, Giuls and her mum saw the evidence today...sucking air she was, very funny to see.
Is that a little whinge I hear right now?!...Must be feed time....

oh mother, what a day!

Happy belated mothers day to all those mums reading this. Also, Happy birthday mum for last saturday!!!!
Yesterday was what we all know of as "Mothers day". For some this means a day where if you have in sometime in your life given birth to a child you are eligible to have "timeout" and be pampered for the day, but it was not so for this new mum... it was my first mothers day and boy did Ella remind me that I was now a mum!
We started the day out early, no breakfast in bed for this mum, (not that I of course expected that from little Ella) it was not that at all that made the day "not so relaxing”, it was the fact that she had a terrible belly ache (I must have eaten something that didn’t agree) in the morning and was not a happy girl for half of the day. She did finally settle when we arrived at my mums and dads at about 4pm, the reason is she had disposed of what had given her the tummy ache in her nappy...and continued to do so for the rest of the night, filling at least 4 nappies in just a few hours. I never thought it was possible for such a small little being to poo so much!!! She managed to poo all over her pretty brown dress shown above; luckily I was prepared with another outfit!
By the end of the day we were both exausted, for different reasons I suppose, .... Thanks Ella for reminding me what it is to be a mum. We took the other photo when we got home that night...after she had a bath, and was feeling relaxed......at least until the next day...hehe...ahhh what a day!
oh, I did get beautiful flowers, some great boots (ella has great taste) and a gorgeous card....
Maybe next year will be a little more relaxing??!

Balloons, Games....Bugger that... I'm sleeping!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Kayla!!!
(I love this photo!! so cheeky!!)

Excited to be going to a party!!

Ella went to her first birthday party yesterday. It was Kayla’s (Suzes and Michaels daughter) 1st birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLA SWEETIE!
Ella did her usual and slept through it all, even the balloons popping every so often did not even wake her. Not quite ready for party games either. Suze you did a great job entertaining those kids...what fantastic ideas you had. I loved the, decorate your own party hat idea. Maybe it should be your new profession?? Kids Party co-coordinator? hehe
Not until the ride home did she make a sound, besides the waking up for a feed cry, but boy did mum and dad cop it on the way home! Ella was not happy being in her capsule after a day of being snuggled up to mum...she screamed all the way on the Sth eastern freeway, poor Jai couldn’t stop because there was way to much traffic, so as soon as we reached burke rd we pulled over to the side and I jumped out and tried to calm her. I could not believe how worked up she was, I have never seen her so distraught, it broke my heart. Red faced, sweaty and tears… So of course I gave her what she wanted....boob....and boy did that work! Thank god for boob! hehe I don’t know what I would have done if she was a bottle drinker. I guess we would have heard her scream all the way home. Which is a good 45min-1hr drive. Hail to the boob!

Playtime!

Well its been a few days since my last blog, been a bit under the weather with a cold, so just barely been getting by so I thought I would give blogging a miss. Feeling a little more human today... In the last few days Ella has gotten a new play gym with thanks to Jai's nana for the money towards it, so now Ella can enjoy some weird noises coming out of a very colorful mat. She doesn’t seem too fussed by it all as you can see in the photo and has her head turned toward the TV instead...typical, you spend money on them and they choose something simpler....hehe.
Well I am sure in the next few months she will appreciate the effects it has...she has managed to "accidentally" hit one of the dangly things and make it make noise, must be her kung fu moves she has, arms flying everywhere.... so that is a good effort on her part.
The other photo is just a really cute close up...so, who is she looking like now?? Any comments?
I still think she is jai and Jessie all over with a sprinkle of me (all mainly hair!)

Enjoy!

Who's Your Daddy?!

** 4/5/06 -Lisa here-thought I would add these photos to Jais blog entry, because they are too cute not too!!

OK, time for some Dad input. Today, Ella was faultless in every way (much like her father)!
We stuck to an almost perfect routine of 3-4 hourly feeds, and minimal upsets. After tending to Lisa, we got back into looking after Ella again (haha). Gee, who wants all the attention around here?? I think that some of the ideas we got at yesterday's baby settling class has helped us through today.

By the way, I'm home today because Lisa is sick and have assisted by painting our new fence out the back...thanks Bruno! Hope Lisa is allright, will check after this blog....kidding....she got pampered with all her meals, and helped with Ella.

Ella again enjoyed her bathtime with Mum and Dad, and was good to Mum in not doing a big poo on the towel after the bath, like she has been doing lately!

Right now Ella is blissfully sleeping and hoping that I haven't jinxed us in saying she has been faultless, and then wake up during the night.

No piccies today, but I can assure you both Mum and Ella are getting more and more beautiful each day!

Gotta go, I'll be trying to participate in the blog a little more often when I can. Seeya!

leaving a comment

Hi all

Just a quick note,

I had just realised that it was quite complicated before now to leave a comment, so thanks to giuls for pointing that out, I have now changed the settlings so that anyone can leave a comment..(it should be easier now)..before today you had to have your own blog, which I dont know of anyone who has one.(maybe you should all think about doing one?Its fun and so easy!!)..so anyway, we would love to hear from you if you are regularly checking Ellas blog.

Thanks

Lisaxx
