Biggest gainer episode 2!

Could that be a smile??

Ella has reached her 1 month mark!

Yesterday was a victorious day for Ella, not only did she again gain weight...375 gms mind you which now brings her up to 4.975 (almost 5 kgs!!!) she also let mum and dad (Jai and I) have a bit of a sleep last night with a 6 hr stretch (4 were sleep), so now mum especially feels a little more human again, Ella must have sensed that mum wasn’t quite feeling herself yesterday (can babys read minds or have a sixth sense??) what a wonderful day! And I am such a proud mum! Only thing is, she seems to be growing so fast, she is not looking so "baby" anymore...and she is only one month old!.....but she’s growing more and more beautiful each day.

P.S Ella is feeling a little unloved and would love to have some comments on her blog....anyone?

What a weekend!

Well Ella had a very busy weekend, interstate visitors, local visitors, her first trip into the city...just thought I would post some photos of all this.

And some thank you messages….

Jim and Bernadette thank you for coming all the way from Sydney to say a big hello to Ella-Jim I posted the photo you requested, no six pack revealing! hehe. Giuls and Steve, thank you for Ellas gorgeous present, she will have it to treasure for her lifetime. Rosie, thank you for visiting and the yummy biscuits, sorry I didn’t get to take a picture of you with Ella, must remember to do that next time! Also Ella had my mum and dad as well as my sister Belinda over to visit also...she cant get enough of them and either can I. They are ALWAYS there to help! Not sure what we would do without them! Thanks so much dad for building the gate for us! It’s sure to keep little stretch (our dog) out of the garage so that we can take the car out no hassles…. Also lastly thank you to all those of you have sent and given presents and well wishes to Ella, you know who you are and I hope you have all received your thank you cards, although thank you will never be enough!

Mum, I know i am a fire sign but this is ridiculous!

HAPPY THREE WEEKS BIRTHDAY ELLA!

Well, it is definately feeling very wintery of late so Jai decided to get the fire going and as you can see Ella and myself enjoyed the brunt of it. (Well maybe i enjoyed it more, by the judge of that first photo...Ella was more concerned about feed time!) We even brought her change table in the lounge as a special treat at bath time so that she could feel the warmth on her skin...and guess what it worked, hardly any tears. Not like the usual bathtime..i think it is time to invest in a mini heater!

The biggest gainer!

Today Ella went to the maternal health nurse to get weighed and boy did she surprise us when she clocked up a massive 430gm in one week!! She now weighs 4.6kg, which is a little over her birth weight..Well-done Ella! What an effort! I thought she felt heavier this week and now I know why!
Also got the shoes I ordered from katazz off the Internet and they are oh so cute!!
I totally recommend them and if you are looking for cute shoes try this website.

A new rose bud is born!

Exactly 18 days and 7 hrs ago a new little rose bud was born... her name is Ella Rose Kerr, weighing in at a whopping 4.4 kg and 53cm long, was brought into this world by Dr Neelam Bhardwarj by way of a cesarean...and mum and dad, being myself Lisa and Jai my husband could not be more over the moon about her!
The week previous to Ella being born I was at a normal weekly appointment with dr Bhardwarj and I was informed that I had high blood pressure. At this time I was 39 weeks pregnant with Ella and wasn’t looking to have her at any time soon, she had not dropped (or engaged as they say). This concerned my doctor and she sent me off to have an ultrasound to see how big the baby was (at this time we did not know she would be a beautiful little girl) she weighed in at 8.8 pound…and compared to the measurements of my pelvis and the baby, there was no way she would be coming out naturally!! So an appointment at 8am on the 31st of March was booked in to have little Ella at the Mercy in Heidelberg.
Jai was unfortunately very sick with a temperature of 39 degrees so was unable to come into the surgery with me which was very disappointing to him and myself, so my mum Maree came in with me and was a fantastic support. A mere half hour later Ella was born, and much to my surprise she was a girl (millions of people throughout the pregnancy had sworn that she was a boy!-bad luck to those people…you were wrong!) and of course my first reaction between frantic shaking fits (apparently due to the epidural) I burst into tears with complete and utter joy!!!
So now 17 days later Ella and myself are settling in at home. Ella is finally feeding quite well with breastfeeding, after a lesson at the mercy I think we have almost finally got it, not quite mastered, but getting there!! Not too many tanties about the right breast anymore…for some reason she does NOT prefer this side…she is the only one that knows the answer to that question!
And sleep well…..there isn’t a lot of that at this stage for any of us, including poor old dad who is a little worried about this and going back to work. Speaking of Dad, Jai has been an absolute angel, with feeding me and cleaning up around the house, I am not sure how I will cope without him. Thank you so much my dear dear husband!
Well I think I have exhausted my first blog entry and will just say, that so far I am absolutely loving being a mum, even sleep does not compare to how she makes me feel…she truly makes getting up every three hours all the more worth it.
