6 months today!!!

Ella has turned 6 months today, does that mean she gets half a cake?! hehe
No we didn't have half a cake but we did have lunch outside and enjoyed the sun! I went a bit snap happy too, ended up taking 75 photos today of Ella ( Thank god for digital photos!!)....Here are just a few!

The one of ellas profile is just to show you how long ellas hair is getting, it really does have a mind of its own and heads north, if she is not careful she might poke someone in the eye! hehe still...It does look cute!

Happy half a year Ella! Love mum xx

No reason - Just too cute not to show you all!

Ella wearing that gorgeous top sarah from london sent her (before she grows out of it and cant wear it (can you believe the tag says 6-12 months!)

Sitting Pretty!

This weekend has been full of lots of firsts for little Ella. She has tried her first taste of pasta (like a true little Italian) she has drank water out of a cup for kiddies and the biggest and best one of all....she sat up on her own for the first time ever today!

Food has been a bit of a struggle for Ella the past few weeks. Especially last week as she has been sick with a cold, and as we adults know, food tends to taste like crap when you are sick, so I can only imagine it is the same for babies. So yesterday I decided to do as my nonna has been telling me for weeks...("try pasta she will like pasta") so like a good little Italian mother, I did. I tried plasmon pasta, boring, just boiled, and to my surprise she LOVED it...Couldn't get enough. Now that's a true wog baby for you!

As for the kiddy drinking cup, it also has been a struggle to get her to drink water. Understandably as I am not a big fan myself. She would end up gagging on it and spiting it out, so I tried today a new tactic, as I want her to grow to like water. I put it in a cup with a spout (the one in the photo) and it has handles that she can grab.....Well it worked...She kept pulling it to her mouth, no gagging at all! I hope it stays a novelty!

Lastly which really needs no explanation. ELLA CAN SIT UP ON HER OWN!!!! yay Ella!!!!
Of course there is the occasional falling backward, but she can do it for more than a second now. It has been a slow process, up until today she needed the assistance to stay up, her back felt strong, but she couldn't quite keep it upright for long. But now look at her...Sitting AND playing!!! What a girl!

I love being a part of all these firsts Ella is showing me, it is so refreshing to get so excited by things we would normally take for granted. To see her face glow with excitement, to watch her try so hard to do things, to be a witness to her learning the simple things in life....It really is priceless.

Tasty Toast

Two Blog entries for the price of one tonight...I had to post these pictures, too cute!
Ella tried her first bit of toast tonight, and she loved it!! should have seen her tongue wrap its self around it! She missed her mouth a few times and went for the eye, but eventually she got the hang of it.
The health nurse said to try it out and also some watermelon and cantaloupe...Might need a raincoat when I try that!!
The other photo was taken yesterday while we watched bold and the beautiful. We had a great playtime...Where was lots of laughs while briget and Dante kiss in the background (sad I know their names-it just happens to be ellas feed time most of the time, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)
She is really starting to have a little girly laugh...Its so cute that it makes me laugh and then she laughs and the laughs keep going and going......

Getting Crafty!

Ella has taken in her mums footsteps and already started painting up a storm! At mothers group we all got our little ones to paint there hands (and feet if you wanted to) onto a canvas, Ella loved the feeling of the squelchy paint between her fingers. She was so good at it too, and got a perfect little hand print, while some of the other kiddies ended up with smeared blobs...hehe. It was a fun day though...Even us mums got a kick out of it!
Could she be the new artist in the family?? Only time will tell!

Jai's first fathers day!

Jai had his first official fathers day on Sunday, and I have been asking him to write a little something on here about it, but he just hasn't got around to it yet. So I will get him to add something to this entry in the near future.
I am pretty sure he enjoyed his day though, he got a breakfast lunch down the road at a local cafe and presents galore...He absolutely LOVED the photos that I got done at pixi photos of Ella and I...He is still saying how he loves looking at it on his desk at work, so he must be proud! Ella joined him in the morning in our bed while he opened all his pressies. But all she really wanted to do was play and suck on the wrapping paper! Later on though just to make her jai feel good, she fell asleep peacefully in her daddies arms...awwwww so cute!

Anyway, it would only be fitting that “Dad” has a say about Fathers’ Day! Got woken up nice and early – but no, it wasn’t Ella waking us up. It was some Moron from Tweed Heads ringing up!! Ella was kind enough to let myself and Lisa have a bit of a lie in for once!

When Ella did get up, she brought me some beautifully wrapped gifts. So talented so young!! In fact, I’ve nicknamed her T.A.G. (Talented, Advanced, Gifted)…..time will tell! Anyway, Ella helped me unwrap the gifts in which I got a photo of my two girls looking “so hot right now”. Thought, “this is going straight to the pool room”. But realised we don’t have one of those so have put it on my desk at work instead. Great photo in a bunch of photo’s Lisa had done with Ella a few weeks ago.

Ella also gave me some much needed going out shoes. It was getting embarrassing wearing my uggboots every time we went out in public!

We got out of bed not long after, and wandered down to the new Watsonia Café, where Ella shouted her Dad a big bacon and egg brekky, with a cappuccino…..yummo! It’s a shame the weather wasn’t a little better. Would have been a good day for a walk.

That was my 1st Father’s Day in a nutshell, and I’m looking forward to more pampering from my daughter next September!
