New Year...New achievements!

Happy New year to you all!!! The Kerr Family hopes that you all had a safe and fun one at that!

Well it is now 2007, a new year which has meant a Ella has decided it is time for some more new advances and achievements!

She now has 5 teeth, with number 5 just cut through and six almost there. Means that she can eat so many more things now...she just looooves chomping on a bit of meat , or a bit of bread..and manages to chew little pieces off now.
She has tried lots of different things, and is always happy to try them too...if she doesn't like it, she turns her nose up and pushes me away....sometimes I have to watch the food doesn't end up on me!

She has just officially (on Friday 5/1/06), after many, many weeks of trying so hard just started crawling!
It is an unusual type of crawl....she does get on all fours, as the photo shows, but then drags one foot and stands on the other. Whatever works I guess, she does manage to get pretty far with that technique. But isn't too fast yet, so there is not too much chasing....YET!

This morning she surprised me, I found her "sitting up" in her bed. Of course she sleeps on her back and isn't one for rolling, so I was very surprised to see her sitting when I came in the room...this leads me to explaining how she can do it.
For ages when she has attempted to crawl, if she has fallen on her tummy, that was it for her. She would whinge and carry on, until one of us rescued her. But in the last few days, she discovered if she pushed her bum up she would be able to get into crawl position and then sit back. All very clever I think. A little hard to explain, but hopefully you get the idea. Main thing is...she is now crawling!

So many new things and the year as only begun....I look forward to many more advancements this year, including turning one! Very exciting indeed!
